Gurmeet’s mother Nasib Kaur announced this after a meeting of Dera’s core committee in Sirsa on Wednesday. She said that the Dera followers might not accept Jasmeet as their spiritual guru, but he will continue to look out the affairs of the Dera management and its operations.

Nasib Kaur has also reportedly slammed 45 office bearers of the committee for not taking the rape trial seriously.
Notably, soon after being chargesheeted in cases of sexual abuse of sadhvis, the convicted Dera head in 2007 had anointed Jasmeet to be his successor. After announcement of the quantum of punishment, Nasib Kaur had called for a meeting of the 45-member core committee and announced the nomination of Jasmeet as the next dera head.
Sources added that the Dera chief had himself announced Jasmeet Singh as his legal heir when he had kicked off a controversy by posing as Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh.
