The press release reads, “Rajbiraj incident seems intended to destabilize social harmony among Nepalis. We demand fair probe into the incident and action against those found guilty.” Arguing that efforts were made for mass killing of political leaders, the UML demanded fair investigation from the National Human Rights Commission. It has added that it would continue its Mechi-Mahakali campaign as per the schedule after three days. Meanwhile, Vice-Chairman of the party, Bhim Rawal said it was condemnable that such incident happened although the party remained in close contact and conversation with the government and the front and changed the programme venue and rally route by exercising restraint. Standing committee member Subash Nembang said his party was firm that they could organize peaceful rally and programme to reach to the people. Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai blamed massive misuse of media in relation to the Saptari incident.
